The Cartridge Mounting Plate for Commercial Filters, Brown is an aftermarket seal plate built to replace the original component in Hayward filtration systems. In service it carries the shaft seal and closes off the wet end against the motor face. It is a wear item: corrosion and repeated seal replacement wear the seal bore until it can no longer hold a seal square.
