This filter cartridge is a compatible replacement for the Hayward original, supplied as the Tie Rod for C1750 Star-Clear Plus Cartridge Filter. In service it traps suspended particles as water passes through the pleated media. It is a wear item: the pleats collapse and the media loses porosity, so pressure climbs and cycles between cleanings get shorter. Ours is built with reinforced polyester media.
