This pump basket is a compatible replacement for the Sta-Rite original, supplied as the Trap Basket Replacement for Sta-Rite Pool and Spa Pump. In service it catches leaves and debris before they reach the impeller. It is a wear item: the plastic becomes brittle from chlorine and sun exposure and the ribs crack, allowing debris straight into the pump. Ours is molded in reinforced polypropylene.
