This check valve is a compatible replacement for the Pentair original, supplied as the Check Valve, 1-1/2-Inch x 2-Inch, Chemical Resistant, Compatible with Pentair Rainbow Feeders. In service it allows flow in one direction only and prevents backflow into the pump or heater when the system stops. This is a consumable in practice: the flapper hinge fatigues and the seat wears, allowing reverse flow and loss of prime.
