This filter cartridge is a compatible replacement for the Bio-Dex original, supplied as the Cartridge Cleaner, 1 Quart, Compatible with Bio-Dex. In service it traps suspended particles as water passes through the pleated media. Replacement is routine: the pleats collapse and the media loses porosity, so pressure climbs and cycles between cleanings get shorter. Ours is built with reinforced polyester media.
