This union / fitting is a compatible replacement for the Lasco original, supplied as the FIPT Cap, 3/4-Inch, Replacement for Lasco Fittings. In service it connects sections of plumbing and allows equipment to be removed without cutting pipe. Replacement is routine: the nut threads strip and the seat distorts, so the joint can no longer be sealed by hand. Ours is molded in PVC / reinforced thermoplastic.
