IntelliFlo3 Union and Adapter Kit, 1.5-Inch PVC — an aftermarket union / fitting dimensioned to drop into Pentair equipment-pad plumbing without modification. In service it connects sections of plumbing and allows equipment to be removed without cutting pipe. Replacement is routine: the nut threads strip and the seat distorts, so the joint can no longer be sealed by hand. Ours is molded in PVC / reinforced thermoplastic.
