This check valve is a compatible replacement for the CMP original, supplied as the Check Valve, 2-Inch Slip x 2.5-Inch Spigot, Black CPVC, Compatible with CMP. In service it allows flow in one direction only and prevents backflow into the pump or heater when the system stops. It is a wear item: the flapper hinge fatigues and the seat wears, allowing reverse flow and loss of prime.
