This gasket is a compatible replacement for the Astral original, supplied as the Drain Plug Gasket, Compatible with Astral Filters. In service it seals the joint between two housing faces and keeps the circuit pressure-tight. Replacement is routine: the material compresses permanently and loses its rebound, so the joint begins to weep under pressure. Ours is molded in EPDM rubber.
