The Rotor Valve with Tapered Seal, 6-Inch, for SM and SMBW D.E. Filters, Compatible with Pentair is an aftermarket seal built to replace the original component in Purex (Pentair) filtration systems. In service it keeps water out of the motor side of the pump while allowing the shaft to rotate. Replacement is routine: the sealing faces score and leak, which lets water reach the motor bearings — a failure that destroys the motor if left unattended.
