This impeller is a compatible replacement for the Jandy original, supplied as the Impeller and Diffuser Kit, 1.5 HP, with Seals and Hardware, Compatible with Jandy. In service it accelerates water through the volute and generates the flow and head the pump is rated for. It is a wear item: the vanes wear and the eye clogs with debris, which shows up as reduced flow and lower filter pressure. Ours is molded in glass-filled thermoplastic.
