This seal is a compatible replacement for the SuperPro original, supplied as the Valve Piston Seal, 1.5-Inch, Compatible with Sta-Rite BW Valve. In service it keeps water out of the motor side of the pump while allowing the shaft to rotate. Replacement is routine: the sealing faces score and leak, which lets water reach the motor bearings — a failure that destroys the motor if left unattended.
