This gasket is a compatible replacement for the Sta-Rite original, supplied as the Blower and Adapter Plate Gasket Kit for Max-E-Therm and MasterTemp Heaters, Replacement for Sta-Rite. In service it seals the joint between two housing faces and keeps the circuit pressure-tight. This is a consumable in practice: the material compresses permanently and loses its rebound, so the joint begins to weep under pressure. Ours is molded in EPDM rubber.
