This seal is a compatible replacement for the Pentair original, supplied as the IntelliFlo3 Diffuser, Seal Plate and Seal Kit. In service it keeps water out of the motor side of the pump while allowing the shaft to rotate. This is a consumable in practice: the sealing faces score and leak, which lets water reach the motor bearings — a failure that destroys the motor if left unattended. Ours is dimensionally checked against an OEM sample before tooling is signed off.
