This union / fitting is a compatible replacement for the SuperPro original, supplied as the Self-Aligning Union, 2-Inch Slip x Slip, PVC. In service it connects sections of plumbing and allows equipment to be removed without cutting pipe. This is a consumable in practice: the nut threads strip and the seat distorts, so the joint can no longer be sealed by hand. Ours is molded in PVC / reinforced thermoplastic.
