The Elbow, 45 Degree, Compatible with Zodiac is an aftermarket union / fitting built to replace the original component in Zodiac skimmer and cleaning circuits. In service it connects sections of plumbing and allows equipment to be removed without cutting pipe. It is a wear item: the nut threads strip and the seat distorts, so the joint can no longer be sealed by hand. Ours is molded in PVC / reinforced thermoplastic and dimensionally checked against an OEM sample before tooling is signed off.
