This volute / housing is a compatible replacement for the Zodiac original, supplied as the Weight Housing Assembly for Alpha 3 Cleaner, Compatible with Zodiac. In service it forms the pressure chamber around the impeller and directs flow to the discharge port. This is a consumable in practice: threaded ports and mounting bosses crack, usually from over-tightened plumbing or freeze damage. Ours is molded in reinforced thermoplastic and dimensionally checked against an OEM sample before tooling is signed off.
