This union / fitting is a compatible replacement for the Teledyne Laars original, supplied as the Natural Gas Valve with Street Elbow, Replacement for Teledyne Laars. In service it connects sections of plumbing and allows equipment to be removed without cutting pipe. Replacement is routine: the nut threads strip and the seat distorts, so the joint can no longer be sealed by hand. Ours is molded in PVC / reinforced thermoplastic.
