This union / fitting is a compatible replacement for the Gecko original, supplied as the Tailpiece Fitting, 1-1/2-Inch, Replacement for Gecko. In service it connects sections of plumbing and allows equipment to be removed without cutting pipe. This is a consumable in practice: the nut threads strip and the seat distorts, so the joint can no longer be sealed by hand. Ours is molded in PVC / reinforced thermoplastic.
