This union / fitting is a compatible replacement for the Jacuzzi original, supplied as the Self-Aligning Union Kit, 1-1/2-Inch, Set of 2, Replacement for Jacuzzi. In service it connects sections of plumbing and allows equipment to be removed without cutting pipe. Replacement is routine: the nut threads strip and the seat distorts, so the joint can no longer be sealed by hand. Ours is molded in PVC / reinforced thermoplastic.
